Telescope: Astro-Physics 160 EDF | Designation: vdB 149 is a reflection nebula visible in the constellation Cepheus. vdB 149 seems to be part of the big dark LDN 1235 The nebula including this and the nearby vdB 150, LDN 1235 is probably a so-called red emission nebula , or a cloud at high galactic latitudes that becomes visible through the interstellar radiation field, with a low surface brightness and therefore looking obscure if observed in the visible light band.
