Telescope: Stellarvue SV80-25 80mm Triplet & SV Focal Reducer | Designation: Sharpless 124 (SH2-124) resides in northern Cygnus and appears to be similar to SH2-125 (the Cocoon Nebula) which is in the same area. However, it does not have the reflection you see around the Cocoon, Very little appears in the scientific literature on the mysterious HII region Sh 2-124. It is estimated to be 8,500 light years from Earth. |
